After Independence                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            You would have read this topic in 5th  grade that how two independent countries came into being in 1947 . When PAKISTAN  was made a new government was formed to the new country. Quaid -e- azam was made  governer general and Liaquat ali khan was the first prime minister. The muslim leaders agreed that the new country would be a democracy.The constituent  assembly was formed by a group of leaders .They had to write constitution . At the same time trouble broke out in kashmir ,where most of the people were muslims , but the leader was a hindu, who had decided  that kashmir  should become part of india .Fighting broke out at the border .Both countries went to the united nation and ceasefire was ordered. ON 16 october 1951 the prime minister , liaquat ali khan was shot dead while addressing a meeting  in rawalpindi .IN 1955 major general iskander mirza took over from ghulam muhammad who was  very ill. In 1956the first constitution was passed . The first president was iskander mirza .                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      During ayub khans rule  there were many reforms.A new constition was passed in march 1962 . A law  was introduced   to redistribute the land .Many new  industries were set up ,  in 1959  the capital was moved  fom karachi to newly istablished city of islamabad .Ayub khans era was known as ' THE DECADE OF DEVLOPMENT ' .  In august  - september 1965 , Pakistan and India  went to war  once  again over kashmir . The fighting was ended  by a ceasefire called  by the united nations at a meeting in tashkent.
